Research into the practices and impacts of government use of online targeted advertising for behavioural change

Research Team

Dr Ben Collier, Lecturer University of Edinburgh, School of Social and Political Science. He has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in criminology and his expertise is in crime, harm, and digital infrastructure.

Dr James Stewart, Lecturer University of Edinburgh, School of Social and Political Science. He has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and his expertise is in Science and Technology Studies, new media, innovation, and the social implications of the development of new technology.

Dr Daniel Thomas, Chancellor’s Fellow University of Strathclyde, Computer and Information Sciences. He has a PhD in computer security from the University of Cambridge and his expertise is in measuring security and cybercrime ethically.

Dr Gemma Flynn, University of Strathclyde, Gemma is an expert in policing and new media technologies, and has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in Law (Criminology).

Dr Shane Hogan is Lecturer in Criminology in August 2019. Shane is currently the program leader for the BSc in Policing and Criminology, and teach on the topics of; policing and security, cybercrime and cybersecurity, criminological theory, online research methods, criminal justice, and surveillance.
