The Sunflower Scheme is a UK-based initiative that helps identify people with hidden disabilities (like autism, chronic illness, or hearing loss) in public spaces. Wearing a lanyard, bracelets, or pin with a sunflower symbol discreetly signals to staff that the person may need extra time, understanding, or assistance—without having to explain their condition. It’s now used in airports, shops, universities, and public services across many countries.
