Racial harassment and hate crimes
Since the Covid-19 outbreak there have been reports of incidents of hate speech and racial harassment aimed particularly at people from East Asia or of East Asian descent.
The University is committed to promoting inclusion and equality and expects that all its staff and students will be treated with dignity and respect at all times. Allegations of hate crime are taken extremely seriously.
There is further information available for:

The University is monitoring instances of hate crime among our community, even if the incident takes place off-campus or online and the perpetrator is not a member of the University. Any member of the School who wishes to report a hate crime can contact Dr Philippa Townsend, the Director of Equality and Diversity. Email philippa.townsend@ed.ac.uk
