REGISTRATION OPEN: ‘1945/2025. Reflections on the Second World War’ colloquium

The Second World War Network (Scotland), co-run by Professors Wendy Ugolini (HCA) and Toby Kelly (SPS), is hosting an international colloquium ‘1945/2025. Reflections on the Second World War’ on Friday 9 May at the University of Edinburgh. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the formal end of the Second World War and we will be marking this occasion by hosting a one-day event which aims to capture the latest research on the war and bring together international scholars undertaking research on all aspects of this global conflict. Themes addressed include military service and cultures, imperial spaces, captivities, the construction of identities (national, gender, race), commemoration, Polish troops in exile, Holocaust Studies, and the East and Southeast Asia theatre. The keynote speaker is Professor Corinna Peniston-Bird (Lancaster University).
Audience places are limited, and there is a nominal fee of £10 to attend. Please register your interest through Eventbrite (link below), and you will be sent a link to epay to confirm your attendance. Places are not guaranteed until the fee is paid.
