This report refers to a meeting which took place within the scope of the project “Youth in action for the creation of inclusive cities”, between ten young researchers/activists from Brazil and India. The project aims to contribute to making cities more inclusive and favorable to active youth development and participation. The project team includes nine members of the Fluminense Youth in Action Forum. The Youth Council formed by four young people and a researcher from CIESPI /PUC-Rio was responsible for representing the youth that participate in the project group at this meeting.

The online meeting provided a unique moment for the exchange of experiences. Over the course of a few hours, we had a captivating and interesting conversation which passed as if it were minutes. We discussed about our cultural backgrounds and it broadened everyone’s view of both realities, which at first may seem completely different, but with a more in-depth dialogue it allowed everyone to see the countless similarities.

At the same time, it was also possible to observe that youth creativity manifests itself in different ways. We were privileged to know a little more about the strategies and approaches adopted by our fellow young researchers on the other side of the globe, despite all the barriers and difficulties that geographical distance can cause.

We are certain that for our colleagues from India, as it was for us young Brazilians, this meeting not only produced knowledge but also triggered encouragement and strengthened our goals which we have been working in this research, awakening a yearning for many other meetings to expand our vision.
