In the third installment of our series on research culture, Deputy Dean of Research Culture, Julia Dorin discusses the CMVM Research Cultures Collaboration (CRCC), a new initiative aimed at enhancing and evolving the research culture within the College.
As CMVM Deputy Dean for Research Culture (RC), I am delighted to announce a new college group dedicated to enhancing research cultures. Research culture is not a competition: it’s a collaboration, and excellent research culture enables research excellence, as discussed in the second part of this series, linked below.
The CRCC brings together individuals who are passionately committed to improving research culture and developing effective strategies for its advancement. This group represents all research-related job families within the College and has the full support of their school/institute directors.
You can see the CRCC grouped into our new schools structure on the CRCC Sharepoint.
Remit
Our initial focus will be to identify the most relevant actions from the University’s Edinburgh Research Cultures Action Plan (RCAP) for our local areas and to highlight the key research culture priorities for the College. The group’s mission is to recognise, support, and develop practices that foster positive research cultures, benefiting everyone involved in our research community.
For more information on the RCAP including the embedded values and the drivers for action can be found on the RCAP webpage.
The CRCC will learn from existing best practices, evaluate current and developing new initiatives. We will share our progress within the group with the Schools, College, University and our research partners.
Please get in touch with your local CRCC group about anything on research culture in your area or if you would like to be involved.
