WEEK 7

In this week’s lecture we learnt about the colour of light and also used lighting equipment in the workshop to experiment with the mixing of light colours. I was interested in the phenomenon of colour mixing and so I looked into the reasons behind its formation, which are related to the human eye, which recognises colours according to the wavelength of the light it sees. Most of the colours in the visible spectrum can be made up of three basic colours of light mixed in different proportions, which are the three primary colours of red, green and blue. When these three colours are mixed in the same proportion and at a certain intensity, they appear white (white light).
Another phenomenon that interests me is the relationship between colours and their surroundings. I personally like complementary colours because I find the clash of colours very strong and interesting, it is actually a visual contrast effect, when complementary colours are placed together they form a strong contrast in the human eye, making the two colours look more prominent and conspicuous.
