Week 11 Post
This week, my group and I discussed the booth layout and display settings for the Fire Station curatorial event. During the discussion, I decided to choose the central booth equipped with a model platform, providing a better way to showcase my fashion design pieces.
The model platform was an ideal way to present my fashion designs and allowed the audience to better understand my curatorial concept. Additionally, choosing a central booth had the advantage of attracting more visitors and viewers. This would increase the exposure to my fashion designs and allow more people to appreciate my unique design style and creativity.
n addition to discussing booth layouts, we also discussed how to display our work. We researched different ways and techniques to display our works to ensure they were presented in the best possible way. Throughout this process, I gained a better understanding of techniques and methods for displaying works, which will help me showcase my designs and creativity more effectively.
Last Thursday, I paid a visit to Allen, an art professor at our college, together with some of my classmates. I had asked him to lend me two mannequins for my fashion design showcase on April 20th. I really appreciate his support and help, as these mannequins are crucial for my fashion show.
However, I have encountered a new issue. My fashion designs consist of both tops and pants, and I have not been able to find suitable mannequins to showcase the pants part. Allen suggested that we go to the textile workshop at our school to find a solution. Unfortunately, they do not lend out their mannequins. So, I still need to find a way to solve this problem.
I have also been thinking about using visual aids to showcase my designs. For example, I could use pictures or videos to show the pants part of my designs on models. This option would be more innovative and creative, but it would also require more preparation and time.
In addition to finding a solution for showcasing my pants designs, I have also been working on creating a cohesive display for my booth. I have been experimenting with different color schemes and props to make my booth visually appealing and attention-grabbing.
