Last week’s mutual comments with Ramona gave me a lot of thought. We are all trying to preserve our own language and culture by imagining the education system in the future, or say by changing the education system at the present. Compared with her bold and creative ideas, my project to promoting the protection of ethnic languages seems plain and mediocre. All my thoughts seem to revolve around whether it is feasible to implement and formulate, which is like dancing with shackles on.

Similarly, I also feel the great difference in the way people think. I am a linear person – everything must be based on actionable and specific steps, otherwise I feel lost. But there are some people in this world who can pursue and explore the unknown according to a big direction and goal. This is an adventurous but fascinating experience for me.

In the third KIPP meeting last week, I discussed with James. He patiently used his own and the former students’ examples to tell us about the difference between “finding project ideas” and “implementing project steps”. I could hear his affirmation of the specific steps of my feasible project, but I also felt his encouragement for me to explore more in the dimension of the future to a greater extent.

I will incorporate this thinking into the process of my education future project, allowing me to benefit from it.
