I’m trying to be experimental with my techniques, and I think working on cardboard has encouraged me to do that. I realise it’s not the most unconventional surface to work on, but having ordered items from the internet and having them come in packaging after packaging, seemed like a missed opportunity if I just threw them away.

There’s also a long grey/beige coloured sheet of paper they had wrapped around my items in my delivery so I’ll be using that to draw on also.

This experiment above is something I might delve into a little more in future. I used my own face covered in paint to press against the surface to act as a sort of print, which may be something I work into more in the future.

Some small canvases primed and ready for experimentation

(Worked more into this painting and tried to bring more layers into it. The slightly bumped/ribbed texture of the cardboard leaves interesting patterns when i dry brush over the top, I’d be interested in coming back to this.)
