Hi!My name is Lian Ying. I am in postgraduate, majored film directing.  I chose this elective course because choosing the environmental design to explore how to balance a kind of relationship between environmental design and our life and society. The connotation of environmental design is dual. In my opinion, it can be divided into two aspects: material form and ideology. Material form mainly refers to the material elements that constitute the environmental landscape, and these material elements can be divided into different types according to different materials, such as various buildings and so on. Ideology mainly refers to the spiritual factors that influence people’s behavior. It focuses more on the intangible spiritual factors, such as aesthetic concept, folk custom, social system, religious belief, ethics and so on

The environmental art design itself embodies these two attributes, the material attribute and the spiritual attribute are closely related, together constitute the art design itself. The relationship among the elements of environmental design is like the symbiotic chain of biological communities, which maintains the germination of all natural things and is in a dynamic balance state. Usually, the environmental art design we see is a combination of dynamic and static, which embodies a kind of dynamic beauty. This state is exactly the goal that modern environmental art design should pursue. Its task is to design the optimal “human environment system”. This system will show the coexistence of human and environment, and the balance and development of human and environment in a new high level. In addition, environmental art design also reflects a high degree of aesthetic value, which is the product of the combination and unity of the designer’s emotion, consciousness, aesthetics and wisdom, and the crystallization of human wisdom. Environmental art design embodies the characteristics of practicality and aesthetics, and is the result of the development of human civilization. Therefore, environmental art design is a bridge connecting nature and human society, and plays a positive role in promoting the development of society.
