Karel Fleischmann’s paintings have a distinctly personal style, sketching the figures with confident brush strokes, often in abstraction. Instead, stray brush strokes are used to describe the background and the relationship between light and dark in the work. I have also experimented with confident lines to depict the subject of the table, and with large brush strokes to paint the background and leave brush marks.
