As I decided I wanted to experiment with non-traditional sculptural shapes and incorporating natural elements I decided to learn a crotchet technique which would be more effective for this than the coiled technique I have been using so far.

I found this technique much more effective in creating the outcome I had in mind, moving away from the idea of a traditional basket to a more abstract sculptural shape. With this sculpture I focused on incorporating all the different variations this technique allows, of a typical cylindrical structure, gaps in the cylinder, adding stones, and various shapes attached to areas of the base structure.
