My primary interest is figurative oil painting and I particularly enjoy working large scale.
Artists that inspire my work include Anselm Kiefer, Henrik Uladen, Nikoleta Sekulovic, John Singer Sargent, Artemisia Gentileschi, to name a few. I also particularly enjoy Japanese woodblock prints and art of the Kano school of painting, by artists such as Utamaro Kitagawa and Kano Eitoku.
At art school I look forward to learning new techniques and working with different mediums in order to be more ambitious with my work. I also hope that taking art history electives will inspire more of my work as I often find inspiration looking at artists and art periods of the past.
