SEM1 Week 11 What’s “the contribution”?

  • What problem do you want to solve?

—The luxury company’s stock products’ upcycle problem. (which need to be dismantled and use disassembled raw materials to redesign and produce new products)

  • What issue do you want to know more about?

—How to find programmers who are also interested in this topic to cooperate with? First-make an interview for my research project, then develop the website.

  • Has anyone already researched something similar?

—there is a company called Aloqia that helps companies deal with excess inventory through reuse/resell/recycle. The difference between my idea and theirs is our customers can not reuse and resell directly, their stocks must be dismantled to ensure their brand value.

  • Who might you need to speak to to sense-check your question from an industry or policy perspective?

—the luxury brand customers.— Will they like to use my platform (Saas or website)

—the designers.— How do they want to register at our platform and work in the platform,  the gig or full-time?

Rationale:

  • Why is this topic important?

I worked with luxury brands to deal with their stock problems, they face many problems. How to find a reliable company to help them dismantle stocks (Clothing, Shoes, , Perfumes, Cosmetics, Skincare Products and etc,. ), how to find great ideas to redesign the disassembled raw materials, how to find suitable factories that can use these disassembled raw materials to produce products with a cost-effective price, appropriate delivery time and the minimum order quantity (MOQ). Our platform offers these customers the whole solution and uses an AI chatbot to quickly and accurately provide their achievable plan. Our AI chatbot can continuously learn and update itself using data from our partner factories, analyzing reuse scenarios for disassembled raw materials to provide customers with more innovative and advanced solutions.

  • Why are you interested in it?

This is a potentially big market, it really reduces waste and helps companies become more circular.

  • What key ideas from your taught courses are you drawing on?

From the https://www.rethinkglobal.info/109-janina-nieper-connecting-new-designs-to-leftover-materials/

I found “Furnify’s offers four services: consulting, design, realization, and storytelling.” That makes me think if our platform can automatically generate a story related to each customer’s order, that would be great. The story includes quantified visual data to show how many products have been reused and how much carbon emissions have been reduced.
