After removing unnecessary layers from my drawing in AutoCad, I thin moved on to apply WB to the drawing. I selected the desired objects and then saved a new file from AutoCad, which then imported into SketchUp. This is now a design that I can work from in SketchUp, adding 3 dimensional features using the rectangle tool, push and pull and drawing skills.
