Call for volunteers
The planning for the Research Support Services Conference 2024 is now well underway. These roles will run from March – November 2024 with an expected time commitment of 2 hours per week, though this is likely to fluctuate throughout the year as we get closer to the conference date, Tuesday the 29th of October.
We are looking for University colleagues to take up the following roles:
- Programme Lead (1 role available)
- Programme Co-ordinators (3 roles available)
- Volunteers to help on the day (multiple roles available)

2023 Conference Highlights
Attended by nearly 300 colleagues and offering over 25 sessions, the 2023 Research Support Services Conference provided a space for research support colleagues from across the University to come together to learn, share, network and develop our community.
Last year, we kicked off the conference with Professor Christina Boswell as our keynote speaker who spoke about the University’s new research and innovation strategy and what it means for our research support community.
From here, the conference offered a range of specialised sessions under the themes of:
- Developing and Improving Research Support Services
- Developing Technical Knowledge of Research Support
- Careers in Research Support
On the day we also provided space for key networking, knowledge exchange and discussions to allow us as a research support community to come together.
“It was a really good day and inspiring to see so many of those who support research across the University, to catch up with old and new colleagues from across the University, and gain insights into areas that you don’t normally have a chance to have much understanding of.” – 2023 Conference Attendee
