Lalovai Pesetā

Lalovai Pesetā is a Sāmoan artist who has lived and worked in Sāmoa, American Samoa, Hawai‘i, Australia and New Zealand. He currently lives in Apia, Sāmoa and is based at the Manamea Art Studio and Gallery which he co-founded and co-owns with his wife, fellow artist Nikki Mariner. His practice is in multiple media, including painting, carving and tattooing. His work combines a profound respect for traditional Sāmoan arts with an awareness of the current lives of Sāmoans in the contemporary context. He has over ten years of experience of teaching visual arts in secondary schools in Sāmoa and American Samoa.
