Marker Details
EMA Signal Markers
EMA signal markers in the form of vertical lines define the movement boundaries and calculated points in the signal.
When using the ‘Select Signal Markers’ option, the user can control if the marker is shown and what colour the marker is.
Marker names are based on column names used in the data spreadsheet

Name
For user supplied points, the names match those in the data spreadsheet.
For calculated points, the names are based on the prefix of the column heading in the data spreadsheet. The spreadsheet column name will have _<signal name>_<sensor name> appended.
e.g. 20PC_Cnstnt_Strt_A => 20PC_Cnstnt_Strt_A_pca_TM
Where the calculated point name contains the text “(Un)Flt” the filtering is dependent on the whether signal filtering has been selected in the application.
e.g. TV20PC_On_(Un)Flt_A => TV20PC_On_Flt_A_pca_TM or TV20PC_On_Unflt_A_pca_TM
Description
This is a brief description of the marker, this description is also available as a ‘tooltip’ when hovering the mouse over the marker in the marker selector. A more complete description is available in EMATview_columns.xlsx
Where Used
- Main & Editor: Main window and slope editor
- Editor only: Slope editor only
Source
- User supplied: Movement boundary points supplied in the data spreadsheet
- Calculated: Calculated from movement data
Custom markers
When using the ‘Define Data Markers’ option, custom markers can be defined for the Audio, LX and spectrogram plots. These markers are displayed as vertical lines on each of the three plots.
The following items are defined for each marker:
- Marker Name: This is the column name in the data spreadsheet containing the time point for the marker
- Colour: The colour used when displaying the marker line
- View: Display the marker on the plots
- note: Optional description or other information for the marker
Item text
Custom text for each item can be defined in the data spreadsheet under the column heading ‘Target’. The text is displayed in a window between markers for the movement onset ‘Beg’ and offset ‘End’, which are time aligned with the Audio, LX, spectrogram and EMA signals.
