Hello! We are Medics Crochet and Crafts, a relaxed society that aims to support students through creativity and crafting. You can come along to perfect your skills or learn something new!
Our aim?
The society is only a few years old, and we aim to create a space where individuals can come to unwind and decompress. Studying medicine can sometimes feel overwhelming, and its important for students to have a space to meet new people and work on different hobbies!
We often run mini crochet tutorials making items, our most recent being flowers, granny squares and frogs! People also bring along their own crafts to complete, whether that’s knitting a jumper, embroidering some jeans, or making a cardboard creation!
What’s coming up?
We meet every Wednesday from 7-9pm in Cheviots Room in Pleasance, and everyone is welcome! To find out more about any projects each week check out our Instagram

What if I don’t know how to crochet?
That’s completely fine! We are open to crocheters of all levels. We’ve just had a beginner teaching series so, not only do we have our lovely committee members who are ever ready to help, but we also have some new members who know what its like to start learning to crochet.
Do I need to buy materials?
Nope! We have a stock of crochet hooks, yarn needles and stitch markers that can be loaned from the society. We also have a collection of yarn that can be used for the project of the week. If you’re completely new to crochet, you can come try it out before making the financial investment.
Wow, you’ve convinced me- so how much are memberships?
That’s the best part- our membership is free! We believe that everyone should have access to a creative space and thanks to support from various university services we are able to provide this with no charge.
If you want to sign up for our memberships and be added to our mailing list, please visit our EUSA page.
