We are the Widening Participation Medics Society!
We are a society that aims to support widening participation medical students to ensure backgrounds don’t negatively impact on opportunities into and throughout medical education. We hope to provide a safe space for widening participation students to meet, engage and support one another.
What’s coming up?
We have lots of events planned for throughout the year. We run a monthly coffee evening with opportunities to meet other WP students and enjoy free coffee and cake!
We have also previously had games evenings, events at Doddles ceramics and Maison de Moggy Cat Cafe as well as academic events – from advice sessions to revision support.
In the future, we hope to offer a wider range of events and opportunities for WP students and additionally widen our outreach to school pupils, with an outreach programme currently underway.
