Hockey

Medics Hockey is a rarity amongst the medics sports clubs: it is a truly mixed gender club, has no initiations and, despite being open to all regardless of experience, is very successful – winning SNIMS last season.

The “Mighty Maroons” are one large family. It is a great way to make friends, not only in your year but across all six years of medics, useful for choosing AcFams and for general support.

Anyone can join. Whether you’ve never held a hockey stick before or play at a high level already, we’d love you to come along and give it a try!

We feel we have the balance between sport and socials just right. We train once a week on a Tuesday, 5-6pm at Peffermill, catering for all abilities. We play intramural matches on Friday evenings before going to the pub afterwards for match tea. We also have at least one official club social a month (as well as Medics Reveal, SNIMS & Tour).

SNIMS (Scottish & Northern Irish Medical Sports) happens on one weekend a year when medics from across Scotland convene in one city for a day of sports sandwiched between two epic nights out. Our tour is more like an extended family trip away than a lads holiday to Ibiza.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
