 Anaesthesia and Critical Care Society

Edinburgh University Anaesthesia & Critical Care logoHi, we’re Edinburgh University Anesthesia and Critical Care Society.

We are a new society set up in 2020 to help students learn more about the world of anaesthesia and critical care – that mysterious specialty bridging the gap between the medic-surgeon divide.

We organise talks by anaesthetists and intensivists on their areas of expertise, offering insights into the multiple career paths that being an anaesthetist opens up (complex pain management. obstetric anaesthesia, pre-hospital and retrieval medicine).

We also work with TRAINED and SQUARES to bring you career advice and research/QIP opportunities so you can get ahead and score some precious points for future specialty applications before you’ve even graduated.

We’re a friendly bunch, spanning the year groups, so if you want to get more involved, have any questions, or just want to meet up for coffee and complain about your new flatmates, slide into our DMs.
