WellMed

WellMed logoFounded in early 2019, we are a group of medical students with a strong shared interest: to create a safe place for individuals, in medicine and beyond, to talk about their worries, share their stories and be part of a welcoming community.

With a committee of 15 and dozens more trained volunteers, we work closely with Student Support to run events, raise awareness and encourage discussion around mental health. We welcome students and staff from all backgrounds to acknowledge the unique challenges of being in an allied-health degree, whilst creating an opportunity to socialise and de-stress through workshops, courses and activities.

Experiencing challenges with mental health, whether yourself or through someone you know, should not be something you need to Group shot of society membersface alone. We want to be here to help and promote better health and wellbeing throughout our medical careers. We are also always open to having a chat and signposting to any services you may need.

This year, we plan for all our events to be held virtually online for semester 1. We then hope, in line with government and university guidelines, we can used a combined approach and see some of your lovely faces in person!
