Patient Outreach Project (POP) is a volunteering society that sends student volunteers to visit and chat with elderly patients who, for a variety of reasons, receive few visitors and spend a great deal of time alone.
Visits run three times a week to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Western General Hospital and Liberton Hospital. We are excited about expanding our reach and collaborating with other societies.
We have regular socials such as pub quizzes to get to know each other and fund raise. POP actively recruits students from all backgrounds and offers training to ensure all are confident in the hospital setting.
