BIOCOMPLEXITY AND FUNCTIONING OF THE CRYPTOGAMIC COVER IN POLAR REGIONS
The goal of this research project is to estimate the productivity of Antarctic ecosystems and their contribution to the global carbon and nitrogen fixation. The project took us on an expedition to Livingston Island. This is a sub-antarctic Island with significant vegetation cover of lichens and mosses. The large research team also consists of several specialist taxonomists and a film crew producing documentation of our work.
