Hello, welcome to my personal web page at the University of Edinburgh. I’m a catchment scientist interested in how nature-based solutions can be effectively implemented. My work spans the natural and social sciences – implementing new approaches, such as natural flood management is not just about the processes governing how rainfall runs off into our rivers, but about how people (land owners/managers, the wider public, policy makers, NGOs and the private sector) work together at many different scales. I’m currently working on projects to quantify the effectiveness of natural flood management and other nature-based solutions, as well as working with the policy community to develop new collaborative approaches at the ‘landscape scale’ in Scotland. You’ll find more details on this website – thanks for visiting!
