Transitions and widening participation: Successes and challenges

Abstract: The University of Edinburgh’s Widening Participation Strategy was launched in 2018. The strategy has helped to deliver significant outcomes in the way we widen access, but also provide support to students from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups.  We have learnt a lot about the successes and challenges of the strategy and its implementation since 2018 that puts us in a strong place now to build on these.   With a particular focus on transitions into, through and out of the University we will ask our own students what works, what they wish they’d known, and how we can make enhancements for the future to support our students to succeed.
