On the 12th December 2024, we launched the Kerr Fry project by inviting 35 pupils from George Watson’s College and Castlebrae Community High School to a morning exploring creativity and emerging technology.
The pupils got the chance to try out a range of activities that illustrate how AI models are trained – “Duck or Die”, “Dancing with Microbits”, “Is this a Zegah?” – as well as a chance to discuss some of the ethical dilemmas that AI raises.

The second part of the event saw the students be judges of an AI-themed talent show, called “Unbelievably Creative”. In this fun and engaging session run by our friends at Digital Skills Education the pupils were asked to identify where AI had been used in a range of creative outputs – illustrations, fashion items and photographs.

The young people from both schools shared their perspectives and insights on Ai and its implications for their lives. It was a really engaging and interesting morning for everyone.
