European Connections: Studies in Comparative Literature, Intermediality and Aesthetics (Peter Lang)

Editors: Hugues Azérad and Marion Schmid

European Connections: Studies in Comparative Literature, Intermediality and Aesthetics is a peer-reviewed series that publishes innovative research monographs, edited volumes as well as translations of key theoretical works. The series focuses on the literary and artistic relations that have shaped and continue to shape European cultures across national, linguistic and media boundaries, leading to vibrant new forms of artistic creation and aesthetic expression. It also wishes to explore relations with non-European cultures with a view to fostering more equitable models of cultural exchange and transfer. Read more here.

Edinburgh Critical Studies in World Literature and Intermediality (EUP)

Editors: Fabien Arribert-Narce and Shuangyi Li

Edinburgh Critical Studies in World Literature and Intermediality aims to publish monographs that address the shared theoretical concerns between these two areas, renegotiating linguistic text-based approaches to world literature with methods developed in studies of other art forms. Resolutely interdisciplinary, this book series aims to investigate creative code- and mode-switching practices such as photo-literature, the graphic novel, literary adaptations, ekphrasis and word and music combinations. While strongly theorised approaches are welcome, contributions should be anchored in interpretative analysis and critique. Read more here.

In/Between Journal

Editors: Intermediality students and alumni

The In/Between Journal is a student-run practice-based research journal that aims to foster the intersection between artistic and academic innovation. It is an open, collaborative, and interdisciplinary space that advocates for border-crossing, border breaking, category subversion, media mixing, adaptations, imitations, evocations, and all other forms of intermedial activity. The journal was founded, edited and designed by Annika Cleland-Hura and Laura Osorio Salazar while they were doing their MSc with us (2024 cohort). Current and future students have the possibility of getting involved in the editorial board. Browse the first issue here, on the theme of the palimpsestic city, and have a look at the call for submissions as the team prepares their second issue.
