Virtual classroom tools for live online sessions

  • Collaborate Collaborate is the name given to the centrally supported ‘virtual classroom’ service. Collaborate sessions can be managed entirely via a web browser with no need for client downloads. They can be scheduled via MyEd (useful for support staff and anyone who isn’t attached to a Learn course) or via Learn (useful for course organisers / tutors wanting to host an online session with their students).
  • Zoom Zoom will no longer be supported by the University after March 2026. Please contact us, if you would like to discuss which tool would be best for your event.
  • Teams for teaching — Microsoft Teams is now integrated with Learn Ultra; please see more information on how to enable it for your course here.
