Equality and intersectionality is a half-day multi-sector event that offers delegates the opportunity to share learning about equalities work and using intersectional approaches across equality networks and organisations, cities, sectors and nations in the UK.


The event will bring together equality third sector professionals from cities across England and Scotland, as well as those working on equality in the public sector, academics and equality policy makers.




The aims of the event are to:

  • share learning about equality work* and applying intersectionality across cities, sectors and countries of the UK
  • provide networking opportunities for people working in equality third sector organisations in England and Scotland, people in the public sector, academics and equality policy makers

*(i.e. disability, gender, LGBTI, race equality, etc.)




The event is funded by the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh, the Equality Network, the University of Edinburgh Global Justice Academy and Global Development Academy, and the Scottish Government Equality Unit.
