Exhibition: ‘On Falling Tide: Artistic responses to Cramond Island’ 16-17 May

Poster for exhibition, with tidal rocks emerging from the water as the background image. We are excited to announce an art exhibition that several members of the PhD Lab have been working on. For those of you in Edinburgh next weekend we invite you to…. Join us at Whitespace Gallery, Newington, for ‘On Falling Tide: Artistic responses to Cramond Island’, a multi-disciplinary exhibition brought to you by Forest Publications and the Edinburgh Environmental Humanities Network PhD Lab.

A 19-acre tidal island off the coast of Edinburgh in the Firth of Forth, Cramond is a space of countless stories, moulded by rock and shaped by human fingers. Over the past few months a group of artists, makers and practitioners have made visits to the island, allowing the dynamic textures of the landscape to lead an exploratory response, focused on process, play and interdisciplinarity.

Exhibitors include Anna Stacy, Annie Gallagher, Alice Barron-Eaves, Deirdre Macleod, Emma Meehan, Irene Aldazabal and Harriet Crisp.

The show will be on both Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th 11am-5pm. You can find the Whitespace Gallery at 76 East Crosscauseway, Edinburgh, EH8 9HQ.
