Edinburgh Environmental Humanities Network invites expressions of interest from international PhD students and early career scholars who wish to apply for the British Council Scotland SGSAH EARTH Scholarships 2025.
This scheme enables international PhD students and early career scholars working on topics in the environmental arts and humanities to spend 1-3 months based at a Scottish university, hosted by a local mentor.
It includes a two-week training programme to encourage networking and collaboration between scholars on the programme, as well as a selected group of PhD and ECR fellows from Scottish universities.
The aim of the scheme is to promote the role and interventions of the environmental arts and humanities, and the arts and cultural sector, in addressing the climate emergency.
EEHN has hosted a number of EARTH fellows in the past and we are keen to welcome more students to our community in this next round.
Past recipients of this scholarship have found it a transformative experience for their research and have benefited from the lively and convivial Environmental Humanities community here in Edinburgh.
If you wish to apply, you should make contact with a prospective mentor well in advance of the deadline for applications on 1 November 2024.
Prospective applicants can view a list of some potential mentors on our members page. We also encourage applicants to read staff lists in their disciplines in order to find a mentor with compatible research interests.
The EARTH Scholarships programme is supported by the British Council and the Scottish Graduate School for the Arts and Humanities.
