Edinburgh Environmental Humanities Network invites applications from University of Edinburgh staff and PhD students to become members of the network.

EEHN seeks to support and promote Environmental Humanities research, teaching and engagement at Edinburgh through creating a collaborative community. We are particularly keen to provide development, training and guidance for early career researchers, including through our PhD Lab. We are inviting new members as part of an effort to gain a sense of the wide range of Environmental Humanities work currently being undertaken at Edinburgh, and to grow our community.

EEHN members are listed on our website, providing external visibility. They are welcome to use EEHN as an affiliation in profiles and CVs. The network offers a platform for members to share their research, publications, and projects with a broader audience. Members may be invited to participate in or give input on EEHN plans and projects relevant to their areas of research expertise. EEHN is not currently able to offer funding, but being part of the network increases opportunities for future collaboration on funding applications. Members can connect with others for joint grant proposals, interdisciplinary projects, and potential research funding through university or external sources.

To apply, please send a short cover letter to environmental-humanities[at]ed.ac.uk by 30 April 2025, outlining your current research and interest in joining EEHN. EEHN members should aim to attend network events on their research areas regularly and should be open to providing support to our postgraduate and postdoctoral members. Prospective members are also encouraged to suggest ideas for network activities, particularly activities they may like to organise in the future.

We look forward to receiving your applications.
