I am part of the E3 DTP, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council. I am also grateful to have received a National Geographic Early Career Grant and support from the Elizabeth Sinclair Irvine Bequest, funds which have made my project “Degradation dynamics and impacts on large trees in the socioecological woodlands of Tanzania” possible.

I work closely with the Tanzanian NGO Mpingo Conservation and Development Initiative, who have provided invaluable support throughout my PhD. I am a member of the University of Edinburgh LANDteam which is led by my first supervisor, Casey Ryan, and I am part of the SEOSAW Partnership. I took a break from my PhD during 2020 to work with the wonderful organisation Tree Aid on their projects in Burkina Faso. During 2021 I worked on several research briefings with the Scottish Parliament Information Centre.
