I am part of the E3 DTP, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council. I am also grateful to have received a National Geographic Early Career Grant and support from the Elizabeth Sinclair Irvine Bequest, funds which have made my project “Degradation dynamics and impacts on large trees in the socioecological woodlands of Tanzania” possible.

I have worked closely with the Tanzanian NGO Mpingo Conservation and Development Initiative, who provided invaluable support throughout my PhD. The University of Edinburgh LANDteam is led by my first supervisor, Casey Ryan, and I am part of the SEOSAW Partnership. I took a break from my PhD during 2020 to work with the wonderful organisation Tree Aid on their projects in Burkina Faso. During 2021 I worked on several research briefings with the Scottish Parliament Information Centre.
