EdTech in universities will be even a more significant contributor to climate change in the future. This will reduce the need for transportation and university campuses and create opportunities to deliver more personalised learning. However, it is not sustainable in the long term because of the high usage of data centres, excessive usage of EdTech among university students, and the principle that humans are coevolutionary partners with nature. Therefore, universities will need to rethink the use of EdTech, which would not just be beneficial for educational systems but also for the environment.
