As we continue to share contributions submitted for our blog series on the BBNJ, we are excited to announce that we are seeking short contributions to our Environmental, Climate and Oceans Law Blog. This is an open call for contributions.

We welcome submissions from experts in Environmental, Climate, and Oceans Law, as well as practitioners, researchers, and stakeholders who have a keen interest in the subject matter. We are interested in short pieces (maximum 1500 – 2000 words) that address pressing environmental, climate and ocean law and policy issues, especially around the following areas:

  1. Ocean governance and law of the sea (e.g., The new agreement for marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction)
  2. Climate change law (e.g., The Global Stocktake under the Paris Agreement)
  3. Environmental law (e.g., The Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework under the Convention on Biological Diversity)
  4. Current topics in international environmental law (e.g., Advisory opinions, such as the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on the obligations of States in respect of climate change)

We encourage innovative and interdisciplinary approaches and contributions from voices traditionally underrepresented in the field.

Please submit your contributions to ecolawblog@ed.ac.uk. We look forward to receiving your submissions.
