The Emerging Science of Computational Psychiatry

 

I will describe what the new field of Computational Psychiatry is, the different levels (within and “beyond” the brain) at which it can be described, why it appears to be a promising approach and what the current limitations are. I will then present recent results from my lab and others, focusing on predictive processing and statistical inference, that hopefully provide new insights into understanding mental illness.
