Getting Here

The symposium will be held at the Main Building, Edinburgh College of Art, 74 Lauriston Place, Edinburgh EH3 9DF.

Edinburgh is well-connected by air and by rail. You can use Skyscanner to find and buy flights, and Trainline to find train tickets. If you are flying to Edinburgh, there are bus and tram links from the airport to the city centre.

If you are taking the train, Edinburgh College of Art is approximately a twenty-minute walk from both Haymarket and Waverley railway stations. Frequent buses are also available; for routes and timetables see Lothian Buses. Taxis can be booked from Central Taxis or City Cabs. Uber is also available in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh does not currently have a bike share scheme.

Accommodation

In August, University accommodation is available for short-term travellers at Pollock Halls, located at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, at a cost of £62 per night. For more details, see Summer Stays at the University of Edinburgh. You do not have to be part of a group to make use of this accommodation. It can be booked through their website, or through their page on Booking.com.

Pollock Halls are around half an hour’s walk from Edinburgh College of Art, and are also served by Lothian Buses.
