Calum Main

Calum Main is a stop-motion animator and filmmaker, currently in the process of doctoral research at Edinburgh College of Art. His research focuses on the relationship between education and industry within animation, and he is interested in ways of improving and developing ways of teaching and working with animation as a media.

In his film work, he shows a fascination in trying to capture the small human interactions and narratives that happen on a daily basis, albeit sometimes in a grander, fantastical setting.

He is also a founding member of Growth Animation, an up-and-coming animation and post-production studio with expertise in an array of practice-based techniques and teaching methods.
