Information about you: how we use it and with whom we share it

The information you provide, such as email address, will be used by the University of Edinburgh for communication purposes only by the AMBER project.

We may collect other information such as diagnosis (formal or self-diagnosis) of depression, gender, ethnic background, age, or sexual orientation to ensure that our Lived Experience Advisory Panel is as diverse as possible and to ensure we send people emails that are appropriate to them (e.g. separate emails to medical professionals vs lived experience participants).

We will share this information only with the team members in Work Package 1:

(Prof Sue Fletcher-Watson, Dr Iona Beange, Dr Cristina Douglas, Mark Somerville and Sue Davidson (for admin/finance purposes)). These are the people who will work directly with the LEAP / in the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement team for AMBER.

For reporting purposes (e.g. to Wellcome Trust or in journal publications), we will combine the information into categories and report anonymously.

We will hold the personal data you provide us with on secure University of Edinburgh servers for the duration of the project (until June 2028) + 1 year for final reporting and administration purposes.  If you join our mailing list, some of your data may be stored on dotmailer systems.

If you wish to withdraw from the project, we will delete your name and email address. However, we will not be able to withdraw the anonymous personal data.

We will hold the personal data you have provided us in a password protected file on a secure server at the University of Edinburgh until you withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data. Your contact details are not passed to any researchers unless we have specific permission from you and you have indicated you would like a researcher to contact you in relation to an activity/project.

We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.
