I have to say it was very moving to see the creative and thoughtful design and production process by the University of Edinburgh students in the Art school who created the wonderful sustainable awards and tokens that were distributed to the winners.

For the team it was an opportunity to have the work of the Team recognised as they aim to improve outcomes for young adults after an Acquired Brain Injury.  The spirit of the team shone through as we work together with a purpose to make a positive difference to other people’s health.

It is lovely to feel valued in this world of business and to have an opportunity as a team to sit down together and celebrate our work to date in the venue of the Mc Ewan Hall.  A feeling of gratitude and joyfulness on what was a very wet day (well it is Edinburgh)!

Dr Elaine Haycock-Stuart is a Senior Lecturer and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with key responsibilities for learning and teaching and is an elected member of Senate.  Elaine has a key role in Quality Assurance and Enhancement.  A Registered Adult Nurse, Midwife and Health Visitor , Elaine’s overarching research programme has a public health and service organisation and delivery focus underpinned by a strong nursing leadership and user and carer emphasis.
