Public Engagement

Edinburgh Science Festival 2023

I am thrilled to share that we were selected to run a workshop at the International Science Festival. We designed and delivered the “Virtual Reality Workshop on DNA materials” that took place at the National Museum of Scotland in April 2023.

Pint of Science Mexico (20-22 May 2019)

I am very happy to have been part of the first edition of Pint of Science Mexico (una chela por la ciencia 😁). This is a worldwide science festival which brings researchers to your local pub/cafe/space to share their scientific discoveries with you – no prior knowledge required.

Public engagement lectures in Scottish prisons (2016)

Life beyond our planet is a pioneer project by the UK Centre for Astrobiology and led by Prof. Charles S. Cockell. I was involved at the beginning of the project, when the aim was to use Astrobiology subjects to incite curiosity about science and learning in inmates serving sentences in Scottish prisons. A paper and a book have been published with the work carried out with (and by) the inmates. The project has grown since then, and recently was recognised by its impact in the REF2021.
