Unica of the Dolmetsch Lute Book

The Dolmetsch lute book contains 78 Unica, one of the largest selection of pieces that are not currently known within any other lute sources within the seventeenth century lute repertory. These pieces are generally found close to each other in the manuscript, as is shown on the contents page of this blog. This could be the result of the way that the manuscript is organised; the compiler, likely to Joannes Aegidius Rettenwert, grouped genres together suggesting prior collation of the material before the composition of the manuscript.  The unica are composed wi
