QMRI Campus TechNet Event, 7th Feb 2019 – Carolynn Cairns
We had our QMRI TechNet launch last Thursday with representatives from TSSG (Natalie Homer), central HR (Joanna Fairweather), IAD (Nicola Cuthbert), Go Abroad (Lesley Balharry), Athena Swan (Carmel Moran) and Sustainability (Andrew Arnott) delivering us much sought after information and resources. The aim of the meeting was to bring together the technical community across the 4 floors of the QMRI and allow everyone a chance to become part of the local committee. Setting up a home-grown forum allows us to receive information from the TSSG and relay it locally and to feedback to the TSSG with questions, issues and requests. With over 50 people attending with good representation over all floors and at all levels, we deemed the meeting a great success!
Our next step is to form our committee from those who volunteered on the day or expressed interest in being part of the group. We are all looking forward to sharing our ideas and making things happen to enhance our working lives! Exciting times to be a technician! #TechniciansMakeItHappen #TechnicianCommitment
Carolynn Cairns (LinkedIn) is a research technician at the Centre for Cardiovascular Science at The QMRI.
