Information and news about the current research project TAStE led by Dr Abigail Pickard

Welcome to the TASTE (Trajectories of Avoidant and Selective Eating) research project, led by Dr Abigail Pickard at the University of Edinburgh.

This research focuses on understanding the complex dynamics of parent-child interactions in the context of selective and avoidant eating behaviours, particularly among Autistic individuals and those with eating disorders. We explore how sensory sensitivities, social communication differences, and family dynamics influence mealtime experiences and eating patterns.

Through interdisciplinary studies and collaborative projects, we aim to develop evidence-based strategies to support families and inform clinical practices, ensuring that interventions are tailored to the unique needs of Autistic individuals and people with disordered eating behaviour.
