About Me

I am a PhD student based in the School of Mathematics as part of the SENSE Earth Observation CDT. My project is entitled “Using high resolution satellite data and AI to quantify changes in penguin populations”. My current research looks at automating the detection of penguins from  drone and satellite imagery using deep learning, and using the outputs to inform population models.

My primary supervisors are Stuart King (University of Edinburgh), Ruth King (University of Edinburgh), and I am also supervised by Norman Ratcliffe (BAS), Murray Collins (Space Intelligence, University of Edinburgh) and Peter Fretwell (BAS).
