Week 14: Final Scheduling

Due to the outdoor nature of the public engagement events the exhibition will be taking place in the summer. I have selected Saturday 20th of June 2026 –  Saturday 4st of July 2026. The timings are arranged to be feasible, with the assumption that the artists and I would be handling additional work alongside curatorial and artistic practices.

September 2025 – Application for funding – 3 months will be allocated to hear back re grants and complete the logistic implications of receiving the money.

January 6th – 12th 2026 –  Observing the publicly accessible availability of the Strange Field warehouse space, I believe that I would need to propose an exhibition 6 months before the expected exhibition date. Time is allocated to receive conformation from organisers.

January 26th – February 2nd – Contacting Artists: I expect to ascertain whether artists will be available and willing to take part in the exhibition early in the arrangement process. If individuals are not willing, I will have time to search for a replacement.

February 9th  – March 2nd – Initial group meeting with the artists. This has been allocated a broad period of time – if all original artists are available then this would be able to happen sooner, but if I have to recalibrate the gallery setup additional time will be needed. This will be a session to discuss the relationship between the artists and ascertain if there are any specific requirements that individuals need in terms of themselves, and their art.

March 3rd – March 8th – Design – having confirmed the themes and artwork involved in the exhibition I will be able to begin drafting promotional materials and formatting layout for the gallery publication .

March 9th – 23rd  – Follow up meetings – Each artist will be met with individually to further discuss the progression of the exhibition, and any other necessary information that may be needed. At this point I would start asking for artwork descriptions that could be published in the gallery guide.

April 1st – Deadline for artists to submit piece information.

May 4th  – 11th May – Promotional design.

May 11th – Consultation session with accessibility experts on exhibition layout, and writing pieces.

May 12th – 18th– Make amendments to exhibition design, promotional design, and written text.

May 19th – Send publication and promotions to Riso print.

May 20th – Begin process of hiring technicians for construction and installation.

May 21st – Book equipment from ECA.

May 22nd – Artists who need to, post their work.

June 1st – Meeting with Event artists

June 15th – Strange Field Installation.

June 20th – Strange Field Opening.

June 20th – Lance Laoyan  Event.

June 27th – Layla Knox Event.

July 4th – Curatorial event.

July 5th July 8th – Deinstallation.

Conclusion

These affordances will be considered in creating an official timeline that will be developed in the PDF speculative proposal, additionally with these considerations a public facing list of major events can be developed.
