This week, our group shared the projects of the remaining four classmates. I shared my project and explained my current confusion points. Since my project focuses on traditional handicrafts, I am rather confused about how to better connect with contemporary art. Lingqiu Xiao gave me some suggestions. She thought that I could enhance the curatorial text part and more specifically elaborate on the contemporary value of each art piece. Besides, she suggested that I could also design an exhibition route, for instance, placing a certain core work at the center of the space. This requires me to have a deeper understanding of each art piece. Ziyi Zhao believed that I should enrich the curatorial theory to support my practice. This also reminded me. Therefore, I will analyze and elaborate on this in the subsequent blog section.
